Day 1 - Arrive Dunhuang
Transfer to your hotel and then tour the city, including the Dunhaung Museum. Shazhou Hotel – Meals L
Day 2 - Dunhuang
Tour Mingsha Hill, Moon Lake and Mogao Caves, one of the earliest Buddhist sites in China. Meals B,L,D
Day 3 - Dunhuang / Turpan
Visit the Ancient Great Wall in Yumen Pass. After dinner, board your overnight train and journey west through the desert. Soft Berth Aboard Train – Meals B,L,D
Day 4 - Turpan
Arrive this morning and visit the ancient ruins of Jiaohe. Check in to your hotel, the best in town, to relax and visit Gaochang, an ancient center of wealth on the Silk Road, and the Astana Tombs, burial site of Tang Dynasty rulers. Day 5 - Turpan / Urumqi
Drive through the Flaming Mountains and visit the Bezekklik Buddhist Caves. Arrive Urumqi and check-in to your first-class hotel. Sheraton Hotel – Meals B,L
Day 6 - Urumqi
Travel to Heavenly Lake, surrounded by grassy meadows, pine-forested slopes and snow-capped peaks. Visit with a local Kazakh family and tour the impressive Xinjiang Museum. Enjoy a festive farewell dinner at your hotel. Meals B,L,D
Day 7 - Urumqi Departure or Kashgar Extension
Transfer to the airport after breakfast or take an early morning flight to remote Kashgar. Meals B OR Continue on to Kashgar for $829 It's Included: 2 nights hotel with breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; In-depth sightseeing; and all on-tour transportation including flights and transfers.
