Where in the Worldis Helen Bingo
Penfield resident Helen Bingo, a frequent traveler with AAA, was inducted last year into the Travelers’ Century Club. Membership in the Travelers’ Century Club is limited to those who have visited 100 or more countries of the world. The club’s official list of countries totals 317 as of July 2007.
Bingo has been to 108 of the club’s designated countries so far, with plans to visit several more later this year. Although some are not actually countries in their own right, they have been included as separate countries, according to the Travelers’ Century Club, because they are removed from parent countries, either geographically, politically or ethnologoically. The Travelers’ Century Club counts even the shortest visit to a country – even if it’s only a port of call on a cruise or a quick stop to refuel a plane.
