AAA Driver Programs is expanding our product offerings to include rehabilitative driving for individuals with physical or mental disabilities who need driver training.

AAA is partnering with the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) to conduct this training. Additionally, AAA is a preferred supplier for driver training for New York State Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID).

Who is eligible for training?
Training will be provided by AAA Driver Rehabilitation Specialists to individuals with disabilities (physical or mental) who need or want training on how to operate a motor vehicle.

Where does training take place?
In-car training will be provided in DMV-approved AAA driver education vehicles (in vehicles equipped with adaptive equipment if necessary). Individuals will be picked up at home by their driving instructor.

What is included in the training?
AAA will provide driver rehabilitative training using its Licensed to Learn curriculum. This is the same training program used by AAA in its private driver education program.

Training will be scheduled as mutually agreed upon by the instructor and the trainee.
