Magic Kingdom Park
Magic Kingdom Park is divided into seven themed “lands,” all featuring attractions, entertainment, restaurants and shops. The park is entered through Main Street, U.S.A., a representation of a typical late 19th-century boulevard complete with cafes, shops and horse-drawn streetcars.
The park's centerpiece is Cinderella Castle, which also is the gateway to Fantasyland®, where adventures are based on Disney films. Hundreds of dolls in international costumes perform at “It's a Small World.” Join in the adventures of other favorite Disney characters at the Mad Tea Party, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Snow White's Scary Adventures and Peter Pan's Flight rides. The cast of Mickey's PhilharMagic, a 3-D film spectacular designed with families in mind, includes Mickey, Donald, Ariel, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Aladdin and Simba as Disney music, 3-D computer-generated animation and special effects come together on a 150-foot-wide screen in the PhilharMagic Concert Hall.
At Mickey's Toontown® Fair children can see Mickey Mouse and visit his house, Minnie's cottage and Donald's boat. The Barnstormer, a children's roller coaster, is featured at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm. The show Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor stars Mike and Roz from the Disney/Pixar film. No two shows are ever the same, as characters from the movie interact spontaneously with the audience.
The futuristic Tomorrowland® also features Space Mountain®, a high-speed race through the darkness of space; Astro Orbiter, a rocket to the stars; and Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, an interactive space fantasy, arms guests with infrared lasers to zap Emperor Zurg's forces in this ride based on the Disney/Pixar movie “Toy Story.” In Stitch's Great Escape the audience is caught in the middle of the mayhem as Stitch busts loose in a galaxy of gross-out fun.
Liberty Square depicts early America with boat trips on the Liberty Belle. The Hall of Presidents offers a patriotic salute to the 43 individuals who have served this nation and features animatronic figures of each president engaged in animated conversation. Visitors can expect to encounter a lively collection of 999 ghosts and ghouls in the Haunted Mansion.
Adventureland® offers a swashbuckling voyage with Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa who have joined the crew of Pirates of the Caribbean. Visitors also have an opportunity to ride a four-passenger carpet while trying to avoid water-spewing camels on The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Jungle Cruise journeys through four continents and encounters “wild” animals from tropical jungles.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a runaway mine train, is the focus of Frontierland®, which also is the site of Splash Mountain®, a log flume ride with a five-story drop. Take a ride on a log raft to reach and explore Tom Sawyer Island, then join a zany group of singing bears at the foot stompin' Country Bear Jamboree. Frontierland also is one of the starting points for a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad. Wishes™, a fireworks spectacular narrated by Jiminy Cricket, explodes over and around Cinderella Castle most nights. The 12-minute display brings together classic Disney songs, character voices and pyrotechnic effects.
